Weigh-in Time: 3:00 pm Pull Starts at 6:00 pm 1. One (1) helper and one (1) driver with each team. No abuse of the animals will be tolerated. If there is, the driver and team will be disqualified. 3. There will be no changing of drivers after the pull starts 4. No walking in front of double tree after the pull starts 5. No blindfolds or switches used on ponies to hook 6. Each team will have three (3) tries at sled of a time of five (5) minutes 7. The pull will start with 1,000 lbs and add 500 lbs until the first team pulls out, then adding 250 lbs each time. 8. There will be no more than 2 times over the scales. Decision of the judges will be final in all instances. 9. No one besides the judges, driver and hooker will be allowed in the ring. 10) There will be two (2) people at the scales during weigh-in. 10. There will be three (3) judges at the sled at all times. Decision of the judges will be final in all instances. Any arguments with the judges and person/persons will be asked to leave the grounds. 11. Only the driver is allowed to speak to his ponies hooked to the sled. 12. No headers between the lines unless there is a breakdown. 13. If the driver calls his ponies off when hitting the lines, it is a pull. On or over the line is out. 14. There will be no water buckets allowed in the ring after the pull starts. |
15. The sled will be pulled at the distance of 13’6”. If there is not a 13’6” left in that direction, then sled will go back the other direction. If sled is pulled over 12’, it is a pull. 16. Teamsters will be given three (3) minutes to hook to the sled and pull from the time called. If not hooked after three (3) minutes, they will forfeit one (1) pull. Teams will be given three (3) tries to hook to sled. If not hooked in three (3) tries it is counted as one (1) pull. 17. There will be nothing but regular harnesses on ponies. 18. Any pony or team of ponies thought to have been given a stimulant, before or during the contest, will be given saliva or blood test. All teamsters must submit to this test if it is asked for. If he or she does not, he or she will be disqualified regardless of the outcome of the test. Teamsters found to have given a stimulant will be barred from pulling at any future pulls for that year at the Monongalia County Fair in Morgantown, WV. 19. ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED ON THE GROUNDS. 20. Mon County fair, directors, and volunteers will not be responsible for any accidents. 21. Prize money and trophies will be given at the end of the last pull. |
