These policies were adopted by the Monongalia County Fair Board of Directors on June 22, 1988 and updated pn September 13, 2022.

PARADE LINE UP DETAILS
Line up starts at 6:30 PM. The parade will begin at 7:30 PM. There will be people in each area to assist you in getting in line. Per the map below – Lineup is separated by category: FIRE DEPARTMENTS/FIRST RESPONDERS – Left Lane of WILEY STREET – YELLOW BANDS – WILEY STREET -- GOLD VISITING ROYALTY – Prospect Street – PURPLE POLITICAL ENTRIES – NORTH SPRUCE STREET – RED NON – PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS – PROSPECT STREET – DARK PINK COMMERCIAL/BUSINESSES – PRICE STREET - GREEN ORDER OF PARADE
From Bottom of North High Street, up to Prospect Street
ALL OTHER ENTRIES WILL BE FILTERED IN AT RANDOM ORDER, FROM BOTH SIDES OF PROSPECT STREET, NORTH HIGH STREET, WILLEY STREET, NORTH SPRUCE STREET AND PRICE STREET. VISITING ROYALTY/ DIGNITARIES/ COMMERCIAL ENTRIES/ POLITICAL ENTRIES/ VFD’S/ CLUBS/ NON-PROFIT GROUPS/ BANDS/ ETC. HORSE ENTRIES
PARADE FLOAT SAFETY The Morgantown Fire Department has set forth guidelines that shall be followed by those organizations that intend to participate in the local parades with a float or other decorated conveyance. These guidelines do not come about unwarranted. Situations have occurred at the national level in which parade queens, politicians, and other notable officials have been injured due to usage, construction, and/or operation of such conveyances. The MORGANTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT has set for the following requirements:
Prior to the start of any parade, or other event where floats may appear, a Fire Department representative will be on hand to make “spot” safety inspections. THE MORGANTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT WILL DENY PARTICIPATION TO ANY FLOAT, OR OTHER CONVEYANCE, THAT DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THE GUIDELINES PROVIDED. Your cooperation to make all special events more safe and worry-free is greatly appreciated.
