Rules
- All products shown in this department must be current year grown unless otherwise specified, and must have been grown by the exhibitor on his/her farm or garden.
- Exhibits that do not conform to rules will be disqualified.
- Articles improperly classified will not be judged.
- When there is no competition a ribbon may be given (if worthy). If in a class no exhibits are worthy, ribbons will not be awarded. The decision of the judges is final.
- Fair officials will take every precaution for the safe keeping of exhibits after their arrival and arrangement in the building, but will not be responsible for any damage or loss that may occur.
- Entry tags will be attached to exhibit upon arrival on grounds, when applicable.
- Each exhibitor is limited to ONE (1) entry per class, except where noted.
- Exhibits showing excessive spray residue may be downgraded. No wax or oil may be applied to any exhibit.
Section 1 — CORN
In Stalk Classes, stalk to be cut 6” above ground level. PREMIUMS (Classes 1, 2, and 3) 1st, 2nd and 3rd place 1. Field corn for ensilage, 5 stalks 2. Field corn for grain, 5 stalks 3. Field corn, husked, 10 ears. May be this year’s or previous year’s crop. Section 2 — POTATOES Potatoes to be exhibited unwashed, but should have dirt brushed off of them. All potato exhibits must be true to type. PREMIUMS (Classes 4 and 5) 1st, 2nd and 3rd place 4. White Potatoes, 6 5. Red Potatoes, 6 Section 3 — FORAGE CROPS All exhibits must be the equivalent of about one-fourth standard square bale taken from the middle of bona fide bale of hay. No loose hay or uncured hay will be accepted. PREMIUMS (Classes 6, 7, 8 and 9) 1st, 2nd and 3rd place 6. Alfalfa Hay (less than 10% grass) 7. Mixed legume hay (grass and alfalfa/clover) 8. Miscellaneous PREMIER PRODUCE EXHIBITOR The Premier Exhibitor will be determined by totaling the ribbon points for everyone entering 10 or more exhibits (must enter in 10 or more categories). Points will be based on Blue-3, Red-2, and White-1. The total number of points will be divided by the total number of entries. The person with the highest average will be the Premier Exhibitor. |
